Children need to know their rights – and celebrate them! This year’s National Child Day Activity Guide includes fun games and resources. Teachers can also display our 2024 poster in classrooms and hallways to help raise awareness.
Want to do more with your students? Register for our National Child Day online event on November 20. Kids will learn about their rights, have a chance to ask questions, and hear from Canadian leaders and experts.
Celebrate at home
The best way to show kids they matter is by celebrating their rights. Set aside special family time to discuss the difference between rights and wants:
Rights
What you need to survive and thrive
Wants
Things that are nice to have but not essential to a safe and healthy childhood
Download Children First Canada’s child-friendly rights poster and go through each item together. You can also incorporate games to make learning fun (see our National Day Activity Guide for more ideas).
